Why We’re Expanding into Aged Care
Australia’s population is ageing rapidly. By 2057, approximately 22% of Australians will be aged 65 and over as per Australian Bureau of statistics. At Closer Care, we believe in empowering older adults to live with dignity, independence, and quality of life whether at home or in supported environments. Our expanded services mean we can better meet the evolving needs of our community.
What Our Aged Care Services Include
- Building on our trusted history, Closer Care’s aged care offerings will include:
- In-home personal care, meal preparation, and domestic assistance
- Clinical support: nursing, allied health services, mobility and dexterity help
- Respite and social support, plus home equipment provision
- Holistic care planning, tailored to individual needs
These services align closely with Australia’s current aged-care framework supporting both residential care and home care services that are frequently subsidised via programs like My Aged Care.

Significant legislative and service delivery reforms are reshaping aged-care in Australia. Notably:
The Aged Care Act 2024, originating from the Royal Commission recommendations, brings a rights-based model into force as of 1 November 2025, along with updated regulatory rules and funding structures
The upcoming Support at Home program will replace Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care, streamlining access to in-home care as per KPMG, analysis report 2025.
